Michael Phelps’ Biggest Win!
The Doggie Costume Contest yesterday at Unique Vintage in Burbank was a big hit! Everyone from Bruce the French bulldog Fireman to Zira a black shaggy mix who dressed up as Dogtor Who strutted their stuff. But the pup who took the prize? Michael Phelps, a sassy Jack Russell, of course. Complete with a gaggle of gold medals, Beats earphones and some skimpy Speedos, Phelps swept the competition. Congrats!
We also had some successful adoptions yesterday! Woof woof!!!

Who’s Ready for Some Witches’ Brew?
Witches’ Brew is a recipe found in Scott Cunninghams’ book: the Encyclopedia of Wicca in the Kitchen.
Ingredients:
3/4 ounce White Rum
3/4 ounce Dark Rum
1/4 ounce Orange Curacao
Sweet and Sour
2 ounces Orange Juice
2 ounces Pineapple Juice
a “splash” of Gerenadine
Pineapple Slice and Maraschino Cherries to garnish
Crushed Ice
What to do:
Fill your glass with crushed ice.
Add other ingredients in order and garnish if desired.
Serve immediately.
